Dr Craig Berry is Deputy Director of the Sheffield Political Economy Research Institute (SPERI) at the University of Sheffield. He worked previously at the Trades Union Congress as Pensions Policy Officer, the International Longevity Centre-UK as Head of Policy and Senior Researcher, HM Treasury as Policy Advisor on State Pensions and Older People, and as a Lecturer at the University of Warwick. Craig’s current research for SPERI focuses on the development of an alternative model for economic growth in Britain, following the apparent failure of the Anglo-liberal growth strategy which emerged during the 1980s, and in particular the economy of Northern England.
